Antoninek, richly covered by forests as well as numerous ponds and lakes, comprises an important and undeniably exceptional area of Poznań. It is here where picturesque walking and bike routes are located. What is more, through multiple sluices and barrages installed in Antoninek, the level of the nearby situated Lake Malta Regatta Track, the biggest leisure attraction in Poznań, is regulated. Within a stone’s throw, the largest zoo in Europe with elephant, tiger and butterfly houses can be reached.
All the above-mentioned aspects affected our decision in 1998 to build Gospoda Młyńskie Koło, located in a marvellous corner of Antoninek, at the pond side, amid luscious green hills.
Hence, going along with the rules emerging from many centuries of tradition of the Greater Poland region, we built a wooden inn surrounded by a scenic green garden, encompassing an area of 1 hectare and undoubtedly being considered as one of the most attractive venues in Poznań.
Looking from the windows of Gospoda Młyńskie Koło and admiring the garden, the pond and the surrounding rural nature, it is hard to believe that this oasis of peace and silence, interrupted from time to time only by croaking frogs and singing birds, is located in the city centre, in close proximity to the Old Market Square.
